This bug still happens, as of Mon 13th Jan 2025.
You pay the Seljuks 200 gold the first time they ask so they won’t attack, then 300 the following request, and so on a few times, and it works, with them saying “Well done infidel, we will tell you when the next payment is due.”
Then around the 5th or 6th payment maybe (might be slightly later, I forget now), it just says ‘pay the Seljuks’ but doesn’t tell you how much to pay. So you pay them as normal thinking it’s 300, and the timer still continues to count down, with the warning when one minute is left. You start frantically paying any amount hoping it’ll work but it doesn’t. When it hits zero they turn on you as if you didn’t pay.
It’s really frustrating. I’m still growing my economy and holding out against the Crusaders, building up to make a push or two into their castles, when I get steamrolled by the Seljuks huge army for no reason, because it won’t let me pay them any more.
