That will never happen in a normal game play. So this is a very rare case. Not worth the resources. It will probably introduce some bugs as well to change this, since that always seem to happen: One fix result in a new bug.
Didn’t the devs take that bonus away from the Persians months ago?
Also while in normal gameplay you’re right, there are some instances with 10x civ bonus and such where negative resources causes interesting and funny situations, and the Vortigern scenerio does actually rely on negative resources at the start (to simulate a debt at the start)
What is the cap now? Because…I mean even if you have a ludacrous sized forest nothing map, would there even be enough wood to reach that value on the map?
I don’t see any realistic use case where being able to have…that insane number of an amount of any resource would ever be relevant.
What is this mod civ if you don’t mind my asking? Even with this bonus, how many cav kills do you have to farm to get that much gold out of it, and how long would that even take? Is it possible to have enough resources on the map to make enough cav for that many kills, and the other units being killed? I also don’t think the devs should be making balance decisions based off mod civs that not everyone has, especially when the other side is a facet of content that is built into the game and everyone (well, that bought the expansion anyway) has (the Vortigern scenerio as previously referenced)
In the very rare case that you can hit 2.147.483.647, then the number of resources doesnt really matter. It is so high, you can really spend it anymore. Also: If you are in the rare case that you can get to 2147483647, then 4.294.967.295 would be reachable as well. Unsigning the integer doesnt really matter anyway.
And like others said: Negative resources have been used sometimes.
The mod civ is called the Khitans, and without giving away too much (you can join our discord if you want to know more) their cavalry generate 5 gold for each kill, including their CA and UU, which is classified as a CA unit.
The answer to “how many kills” is a lot, like way too many to count, but 420 69 69 666 is a funny number and I’m a firm believer in memes above all. It’s also the number I hope that dogecoin will someday reach, solely for the meme.
EDIT: Okay I did the math, turns out “uncountable numbers” is 841,393,933.2, so 841,393,934. Which is technically achievable with a looping trigger that spawns new enemy units at a steady rate.
Honestly, I’m just impressed that every single reply took not just the bait but the whole line. Even the replies to my replies still keep going for it hook line and sinker.
