Is it me or am i the only one who likes to play long matches with 90 minutes treaty, more people then 500 standard.
IDK i played with the population mods some of my friends PC cant handle it. Are there people out here who likes to play with troops of 1.500 á 1.000? Maybe more xD

You can raise population beyond 500 with triggers in scenarios. I’ll give you the followings example I have done similar for some maps I made. My base pop is 200, but I add 800 making it 1000. Headroom is simply filling with houses.
Under trigger: Tribute. Take note of source player 1, and target player as gaia, and this minus symbol - before the number. Gaia will then give you the resources/pop.
You can change the population via triggers in a scenario and you can modify random maps to have higher population by editing the resource data for them.
Both don’t require mods so you instances can be joined by anyone but it requires either a custom scenario or a custom random map.

You can use “MOD_RESOURCE” and “ATTR_SET” or “ATTR_ADD” with “AMOUNT_POPULATION_CAP”.
You can probably find the scripts for the build in random maps somewhere and then just add a line to increase max population.
Okey i tried everything, even took everything through with chatGPT. I got to the part i can code a new random map into having for example more population and resources. But… I’d for example wanted to start a game with 1000 population and did the code like ad 800. I started the game up. my folder was found as a mod and as extra map. I didn’t had to build houses and my max was 500. Now chatGPT says it’s not possible for anyway by the engine of the game saying 500 is the max. Thus only with cheat My CPU can Handle it but also with mods like more population mod. Is there a way you could describe to me step by step very simple how to reach more

English is not my main language i can write, read and speak it well but it seems to me that when it comes to computer stuff and progamming it gets a little above my head. ChatGPT helps me but he keeps telling me there is a max limit to 500. I read your text and i think do i need to put a text note and save it as a RSM somewhere with the code amount_population_cap???
If you set the population to 500 in the lobby it overwrites whatever the Scenario or Random map sets as far as I know.
“AMOUNT_POPULATION” should give you free population.
I have no idea if ChatGTP is any help with AoE2 random maps. ChatGTP constantly makes mistakes about everything so you always have to be careful what it tells you to do. If you set it up wrongly it won’t show you an error and it will just not do the thing you set up wrongly, which is kinda annoying.
I never tried it myself so it might be possible that it’s actually hard limited to 500. I currently can’t test it because I’m not at home.

If raising the population in the way you want is possible, the people there will be able to tell you how to do it. It probably just involves putting a single line of code into the RMS file.
I’d expect ChatGPT to have zero chance of being able to do something like this. It needs large amounts of relevant data to work (inasmuch as it “works” at all). It can function ok for standard things done in mainstream programming languages, but what you’re asking for is an unusual use of a very niche language.
As I posted on steam a while back, I honestly don’t think there is a limit anymore. (It used to crash at some point but, that was fixed. Except 230400 tiles of units but, you can always make more I am sure.) Although, I personally found that 2000 pop is manageable (1 Player.) but, it starts to lag badly after that. This game below was unbearably slow. (230400 Villagers. I was testing/curious.)
edit: I was making a villager only scenario to mess around with an eco-only game. It’s interesting but, gets boring fast.

Tried everything i could. Really is not working mate… Is there a way you could create or put it into a RMS file. Add some more recourses if you could and send or copy the whole RMS here….
Like i said i’d even pay for a map pack in which people can play with 1000 or 1500 without mods or cheats
