It’s a very useful feature in RTS games like Starcraft1/2/Warcraft3 but even a couple other ones.
Sometimes it can be clunky to double click small and/or fast moving units, like pikemen or light cavalry, especially during a battle. Clicking on them once while holding down a key is a more reliable way of selecting same units and would be great to have as an option.
