This bug will 100% happen if you choose legacy keys, but legacy keys is a must since its the only way to rebind everything as the other option is extremely limiting, please fix it asap, posted 5 years ago still not fixed its ridiculous
INSANE THIS IS NOT FIXED
Tons of people have this issues
Shift is so important because its the only way to add a new task to villager without it being Idle, Shift + Command
so you will 100% run into this bug often
Clicking Shift / ALT will run into this issue where it brings up chatbox nonstop, only way to fix it is to restart the game, but this happens way too often
Can’t play the game if shift opens chat lol what is happening?

It doesnt happen often but it does happen occasionally, the only way to fix it is to restart the game
If reproduce bug isnt possible please add a new keybind for Additional tasks from Shift to Something
also please add WASD support, AOE4 have this and almost all modern RTS uses WASD instead of arrow keys, none use arrow keys for map movements lets be honest in 2026.
and if possible please add penalty for leaving matches 3 times in a row , people keep abusing this and its ruining new players experience
