Please weaken Poles on closed maps

these changes make no sense. Still cheap knights dominates game and obuchs wreck enemy melee units.

They do actually make sense. Yes, Szlachta still needs a nerf, but these arenā€™t bad. Obuch arenā€™t just as straightup good against everything now, sure they are good, but they take twice as long roughly to remove all the armor as they did before. And the slower gold gen makes mining stone less effective as a gold replacement, so itā€™s harder to afford tower rushing or castles + military just off it.

wait a minute. first you say it makes no sense and then you say

this?
you do realize it will take a lot longer for the armor removal to ramp up and obuch to be able to dominate right?
thatā€™s a pretty substantial nerf

what? Is that true? where is stated?

Small changes, does not effect domination.
Obuchs are cheap, tanky, low creation time, easy to mass with stone bonus. Maybe the best inf in the game.

Never mind, I rescind my previous comment, with an apology to anyone confused by it. Iā€™m not sure where I got that from, itā€™s entirely possible itā€™s just wishful thinking. I could have sworn it was in a balance update at some point, but I check all the patches since DotD, and that change was never made. That said, I think itā€™s a change the devs should make.

Also curious. I only remember that training time increase.

However. I said when Poles came out that I think they are the most OP civ in the game. Weirdly it took the community 1 1/2 Years to justufy that claim.

I think there are a lot of soft factors involved, that lead to this discrepancy between analytical deductions and practical performance.

First ofc is the unique gameplay of poles. You need to know that they need to be played differentlly to make the Bonusses apply.
Secondly Poles, besides being one of the best Raiding civs themselves, are also the civ that is the most vulnerable to Raids itself. And you can easily get in the situation where your whole folwark eco gets completely destroyed by a single knight raid.
Third, the high amount of strong options Poles have is often a disadvantage, especially when you need to make a quick switch. Itā€™s not always clear what is the best transition. And itā€™s surprsingly easy to bring you in a situation where you are out of options with that civ despite it seemingly is so rich on them, just because you made the wrong approach or the wrong transition at one point.
Especially Szlachta is often so tempting that you might prefer doing it at times where you shouldnā€™t. And itā€™s really hard to tell when itā€™s actually the best time for it. Especially as you can basically only use it once. And once the opponent has transitioned into mass halberdiers or has built up a stronghold with ranged units to protect that powerspike is gone. So itā€™s very important to time it right, and thatā€™s not easy to achieve.

Imo the most annoying things with poles are that UT which make the Knights almost trash units but also their rebooming potential. Poles are fine as long as they donā€™t fall behind totally. If you canā€™t kill them asap when you have a window, they just boom back into the game with their folwark eco and you will occasionally just run out of Gold against them, as they not even have more Gold and save a lot on their military. They also have really strong trash and semi-trash in their Obuch. Empowered by their insane faming eco.
