i get what u are trying to do, but it just feels so weird for a higher-level upgrade to cost less. I dont think it exists in aoe2 at all. To be fair though, before winged hussar, alternate upgrades didn’t exist either.

The only regular unit that is fully upgradable for Poles is the seige ram
I think they should get the last archer armour or gambisons so either archers or champs are fully upgraded
Also parthian tactics so that HCA are more viable
Ideally it should be a rework of slatza and get paladins

That’s very strange and defeats the idea of the bonus, because normally you only put farms around TCs or folwarks/mills.
Might as well change it to something else
It would be something without precedents but wouldn’t feel out of place at all. Before you had pointed that out, I’ve never thought about it. It’s not something that would be unnatural or unfit for the game.
Alternatives upgrade feel way more disruptive, for sure. At least that’s my perception.
Poles fell off in Arabia in previous patch, especially at top level. Since new patch has buffed some bad Arabia civs like Koreans and Vietnamese, their win rate will drop further. I won’t mind reverting folwark nerf. Then increase Obuch cost to 30 gold.
