You dont need to backport anything OG AoK game only had bersekers with regeneration,If anything it was added to the hero class.Im pretty sure if you take the berserker copy and edit stuff the ability would still work on normal units.
Except read here:

Supposedly it was hardcoded but then it wasn’t???
You don’t know how angry it makes me that some people are able to bend the laws of reality and we cannot
It doesn’t take talent. You can learn just about anything if you set your mind to it and don’t complain.
How can we learn to break the hardcode asap
And just in case: here’s a snip:
Nobody is explaining how or why someone can break the hardcode and why I am not able to. Cmon be fair and give me my shine!
If you have the source code you can do pretty mucj anything. If you dont you can learn coding and break/hack sruff like scripter did and make userpatch which also lead to adding more civis which too was locked earlier.
I’ll find someone who can teach if possible so I can make yall proud
Corporations don’t promise anyone anything in my experience, they just advertise whatever feature is convenient at the moment and then change things when there’s avenues for making more money.
That’s more or less what happened to AoE2, especially with 3K. They were going to make a china DLC but then decided to make one based on 3K in order to appeal to the lowest common denomination and had arguably mixed results with that.
Yes, that’s true, but it’s still somewhat frustrating that because Age of Empires II has more players and generates more profit, the other games are sidelined to overexploit Age of Empires II with DLCs that players of that game ultimately don’t like… I feel like it ends up being wasted resources that could be used to improve the other games and evolve the series, even though deep down we know they aren’t as profitable as Age of Empires II… In the end, Microsoft will probably just give up on releasing new installments and only live off Age of Empires II until they simply get tired of it too, and that’s the end of the series…![]()
I wouldn’t listen to Cysion anymore; he’s a bit of a charlatan and in the end he’ll pull the wool over our eyes…
Cysion was saying that the last khans would be the last expansion for aoe2 and that they ‘are done adding civs’ in interviews promoting aoe2de. “Definitive edition” itself means that it’s a final product.
Doing a 180° turn and adding 100eur of DLC to it is such a c*** move, I can’t even put it in words.
Where did he even say this? cuz back when people were covering the release of DE this wasn’t ever brought up. Even when Lords of the West first released it was never brought up.
So I’m really question if this was actually said, especially considering that many games come out with a definitive edition and still get content later such as Kingdom Come Deliverance and Persona 3 Reload.
The wasted effort is what really drives me up the wall, like instead of Return of Rome they could’ve just done a DLC that adds Vandals and/or Alans alongside Romans, there was no need to remaster AoE1 into AoE2, especially since AoE1 DE exists and has had a prolonged content drought. Similarly there was no need to stitch Chronicles into AoE2 as a seperate game mode when it could’ve been either it’s own game or a standalone expansion like say Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.
Even if we completely remove adding new Civs they could’ve done something people actually wanted like regional skins/variations for generic units or even just adding proper Campaigns DLC. But instead we get the most lazy quickly done shit they could cobble up, even the Elite UU skins which I like are just 60% reused assets.
So I honestly do wanna ask why should we support them when we aren’t being offered the product we want? Why should we support them when it’s obvious we aren’t being respected as customers?
There’s still a chance they could do this. Include the Romans in the new DLC, provide a discount for ROR buyers, and include campaigns for all three.
The porting of AOE1 to AOE2 is another revenue stream for the dev company. AOE:DE did not do great numbers because it is still a worse game that AOE2. At one point in time, they sent a poll asking people various things and one of them was whether to port AOE to AOE2 and my guess is that people liked that idea. So they went with it. Chronicles is about monetizing AOE, based on AOE2’s formula.
We might not see it as necessary but for them it is to continue operating.
Yes, I agree… they should have taken advantage of the fact that when they released AoE 1 DE, they should have released at least two DLCs for it in 2018 and 2019, and while they were at it, in 2020 before abandoning it with the release of AoE 3 DE…Then they could have simply focused only on AoE 2 and 3 DE until 2024… AoE 2 DE was ending with TMR in 2022 and maybe VaV in 2023, and AoE 3 DE with the Baltic DLC in 2023 and maybe another Federal Civ DLC, and from there they would only have had to focus on AoE 4 and AoMR from 2024 onwards…
Sry, was Adam Isgren, not Cysion who said this
It’s just greed (20 characters)
Yeah I’m not surprised Isgreen said this since he used to work for EA lol.
Anything that means EA means danger…
Doing what the people are asking for is a bad thing?
Yeah I know you personally don’t want DLC but almost everyone else likes having more content. Especially because everyone who bought the game on release even got 3 DLC for free by now.
It’s also not like they imminently started working on DLC after the DE release. It took them a while before they made DLC again, it was only after players kept asking them for new content.
Don’t remind him other people exist, this world only consists of TowerDefender and all the injustices the evil developers of Age of Empires 2 the Grift-initive Edition.
The rest of us are naught but phantoms in the wake of his completely true and unbiased statements as he gives his blood, swear and tears in the name of the community by endlessly complaining.
