Celts, then Mesopotamians and then Yoruba/Maori. tbh the hate voting is stupid and pointless so I would remove it even after giving my vote there (don’t like the idea of abrahamic religions as part of the game). ---

Personally i think Abrahamic/Bhuddist/Monotheistic mythologies are the least likely to ever be represented, they don’t quite make. ---

Do they? I thought it was supposed to be a philosophical religion without deities at all, like Confucianism or Taoism ---

Nope. They believe that you can be reborn as higher being including literal gods. But only humans can find enlightenment. Those gods have overlap with other religions like Hinduism. The Japanese already have Buddhist elements so that makes it harder to make Buddhism it’s only pantheon. ---

Qua è difficile. I pantheon politeisti più famosi li abbiamo tutti. Sarebbe una scelta complessa per gli sviluppatori. Io penso che dovrebbero aggiungere gli ultime due divinità (1 Atlantidei e 1 egizi) ---

At first I didn’t see there was more than one poll, so I kind of voted AGAINST the pantheons I’d like to see in the game lmao. My bad! That being said, I think I’d be happy with any new pantheon. However, if they were to add, lets say inuits, I wouldn’t want them to get the same fortress type building just in order to fit in the game. Inuits didn’t build anything like that. And before anyone tells me : “fortress building is a prerequisite for mythic age”. I’M VERY AWARE OF THAT! In my opinion, this is an opportunity to make something different. To conclude, I think any culture could be added to the game, but I’m against it if the devs don’t make it coherent with itself. ---

The NO WAYS for me: easy, no modern religions. First of all, it would never happen because some religious groups are very conservative about portrayals. Secondly, I want to play mythology. A lot of these religions are monotheistic and don’t have ‘creatures’. Also, there are enough wars because of religion going on now, I’d rather escape that if I can… ---

If the devs won’t put the effort and take the risk to make things different because they want to satisfy conservative players, than they probably shouldn’t add all these new civs. Same thing applies to Retold as well. ---

Many good pantheon to be added … **I voted** for : Celts, Slavs, Tengri, Maori and Aboriginal (Other) I’m french so I heard of Gaulish gods in Asterix since many decade, I hope than I will play with them one day. Also O see good picture of slavics gods. Tengri : yes with a civilization like the mongols of AoE4 and with a campaign with more than 12 scenarios like a Gnghis Khan grand campaign with mythic unit ! Then Maori and Aboriginal. There is only 5 options so next : Mesopotamian, Inca, North American and West African. For the Roman they are good but their pantheon look like too much those of the greek and the Atlantean have already roman unit. **I voted against** monotheistic pantheons (Jew, Christian, Muslim and Buddhist) because this game is only for polytheistic pantheons. An if the Arabs will be added one day this will be with the pre-islamic polytheist pantheon. **I want many more pantheon and gods pack,** I hope that we will have an egyptian god pack at the end of the year. ---

Nothing has really changed to how religion worked in Japan 500 years ago around the time the AoM Japanese represent. There are a few more new religious movements nowadays but generally it’s till the same with gods having about the same importance. There is no fundamental difference between them other then that Hinduism is being politicised a lot in India recently and hatred towards Muslims is very common. They have many gods but Buddha himself is not one of them. ## What I voted for #### Celts Celts are kind of in between Greeks/Romans and Norse in many way, geographically and also culturally. Celts settled half of Europe and directly interacted with both Norse and Greeks historically so there is a lot of potential of missions including other pantheons without having to use god powers, magic or the underworld to move around again. #### Mesopotamians I just really want to see Gilgamesh in AoM. Also they could offer a new unique way to have a 2nd city building civ like the Egyptians. #### Tengri AoM doesn’t really have a cavalry focused civ yet. Also it would allow to have an actually nomadic civilisation that can move all it’s buildings like Mongols in AoE4. Of course TCs still need Settlements. Mounted villagers could also be interesting and fit into AoM pretty well. #### North Americans They got a lot of interesting and diverse mythology. Of course one specific one would have to be picked here but there are many good options. AoM would also allow to represent them a lot more authentically since they wouldn’t need to have siege engines or cavalry. #### Romans I really wanna see a retelling of the Aeneid in AoM. That story would work perfectly as an AoM campaign it even already has an underworld section build in. I also think they offer a lot of potential interesting unique game mechanics, like having a main infantry unit with a charged ranged attack or mechanics based around Vestales or the Senate. ---

I decided to choose some obscure ones in hopes that they might garner some interests. I think Maoris and Canaanite could be potential dark horses that may actually be fun to conceptualize especially the latter. Even the Romans could surprise players. I would love to see them gain favor through building massive road networks. These roads could speed up favor generation and also increase the movement speed of their units. The tricky part would be how players issue commands. Attack clicking or right clicking could become awkward if they accidentally click on the roads. Probably a solution to this would be for the developers to make completed roads untargetable, or to add a separate hotkey specifically for destroying them.
