(poll) What region should Aoe2 visit in the next DLC?

I think it’s always beneficial to look forward to the future potential, especially to get the 3K out of our minds.
Let’s also help the devs and let them know which civs and region you would like next in Aoe2. Africa has the most potential, but also Europe and Asia have some white spots.

  • Medieval China (Dali, Tanguts, Tibetans)
  • South East Asia (Thai, Campa)
  • Balkan (serbians, croats, walachs)
  • Scandinavia (swedes, danish)
  • Imperial West Africa (Hausa, Songhai, Kanemburu)
  • Minor west Africa (Yoruba, Benin, Wollof)
  • East and South Africa (Somali, Kongo, Simbabwe)

Trojan War DLC pls, we can bundle the Serbians with the Trojans and Achaeans because they’re close geographically :moai:

Sorry guys, I corrected a typo at the croats and it rested the votes.

OMG the Trojans were so advanced, they’d fit right in!

What region should Aoe2 visit in the next DLC?

Any region that brings devs back to reason

Didn’t you forget some continents there?
No America?

With 50 civs, you can experience 1225 different matchups.

So, no new civs are needed.

Medieval China to compensate this DLC.

No Oceania? Big sad.

Though I suppose it would only work with a new architecture set.

Make the MEDIEVAL Chinese DLC that everyone and their mother was waiting for. Beat the iron while it’s hot !

Not everyone sees this game as a pre competitive 1v1 game.

There is more to the game then “matchups”.

Also I don’t think it’s that hard to learn like 4 new civilisations per year. That is like 3 months of training time per civilisation.

Most people grow bored of the existing civilisations after a while. And again not everyone plays competitive 1v1. So small balance changes don’t change the gameplay experience of casual players, only larger changes like new civilisations do.

You’re not thinking strategically enough. More civs = it may decrease the % of civs with hand cannoneers that can beat the janissary. Provided none of the new ones get a strong bonus for the HC of course :upside_down_face:

It helps better flesh some regions out.

How many civs will be enough?

I guess now is good a time to point out to the devs we hate there hasn’t been a new architecture set since DE. 15 new civs, 30% of all civs, and not a single extra architecture set. The math would suggest we should have 4 to 5 additional sets (4.7 sets) by now. I don’t need new sets for the sake of new sets when old sets are perfectly representative. But georgians and portuguese both in the mediterranean set, teutons and huns both in the central european, and 10 civs in east asian using japanese architecture seems sub optimal. tho three of those civs shouldn’t even exist so…

Black Sea/Byzantine/anatolian
North Asian
Nomadic

Would probably be good sets to add.

Yes !

What matters is to fill gaps in the map.
