[PUP] - Consistently crashing on long games

In games over ~40 minutes long, the game crashes to desktop. It’s an intermittent issue but fairly frequent.

This has been seen in 1v1 matches against the AI. Perhaps it has to do with the trade bug in the PUP. I’ve had virtually zero crashes with AoE4 since launch otherwise.

Hoping to hear if anyone else has seen the same thing.

I went back to the stable release (i.e. not PUP) to test if it was something with my PC and the crashes are gone. I don’t know if the warnings.log file also gets nuked by switching back and forth but I’ll submit the ticket nonetheless.

It does sound like the trade bug was the culprit. The strange thing was that for the first days with the PUP I had no crashes and all of a sudden they started happening.

I have to report that the same thing happened to me:

There are 4 skirmish games where the game crashes, usually before I win, or by the time I destroy “all” a specific player’s landmarks, and both players are in Imperial Age. I know this because I was playing a 3v3 to test the Chinese grenadier, and I couldn’t because after destroying all the landmarks of a player, the game crashed. Meanwhile, in a sea game with the French, I won by a holy victory, so I didn’t have to destroy all the enemy landmarks. So it’s not when you win, but when you destroy all the enemy landmarks of one player.

This is something that should be reported since so many crashes are not normal, especially when you win by conquest mode.

Yup, yup. Exactly the same thing.

I went back to the non-PUP but I hope this crash doesn’t stick until the final release.
