what about heavy/scorpions?, turks have it and can attack mutiple units at once

Understatement of the age

Yep, an exec thought 3k would sell like hotcakes and rammed it through.

And what little can be appreciated from the work done by actual developers, was greatly overshadowed by the deceitful marketing.

“which side of their food they cook first”

I like my sausage cooked from the right side. These left siders might think they are the same, but it actually MAKES the difference!

And don’t forget: NEVER SPLIT the Sausage crosswise!

(PS: this is an ironic reference to "as a german i don’t even know what of our food has 2 sides that make a difference on order of cooking)

If I wanted to do that, I wouldn’t just be asking you not to deliberately misspell something.

Look. I see a LOT of anti-South Asian and anti-Central Asian sentiment in the AoE2 community, and it’s really frustrating for a game that has civs from all over the world. It’s exhausting trying to explain that these parts of the globe have multiple varied cultures, and then seeing “they are all the same anyway, just re-merge them” “they are barbaric with no culture” or even sillier stuff like deliberate misspellings of their language all the damn time.

I think the critics against the indian civs is mostly that they are really not satisfying to play or play against.

Some of them dominated certain map types without really contributing to the playstyle that was preferred there. Mostly driven by their eco.

Others just have units that are painful to play against (shrivamshas / rathas) because of their gimmicks.

In lot of cases the critic isn’t against the civs, but rather their designs.

Except he didn’t claim any of these things.

He did disagree with proposals (including mine own) for two distinct reasons:

  • distrust towards the devs’ ability to design a civ
  • population numbers (Ryukyuans, Polynesians, Mississippians)

I don’t agree with the second reason especially, but that’s still different from what you’re accusing him of.

Also “Baristaman” instead of “Bimaristan.”

It’s human nature to approach a foreign word by comparing it to words you’re already familiar with. That’s how the human brain works.

I meant it’s exhausting seeing all of this across the community.

I’ve seen a lot of racist stuff in this forum.
But the worst stuff wasn’t against south asian civs.
I won’t call what the worst stuff was, but there was some really f toxic stuff here (and in parts still is).

In general though this community isn’t racist. And I don’t like it being presented as this. The vast majority is everyting but racist andthere are only a few voices which are loud and partially racist, partially even proclaiming being racist targeted whilst in reality they are themselves.

Ofc this is a problematic issue, however I truly believe our community DOES NOT HAVE a racism issue.
