I am really tired of having to use multiple hotkeys just to select wall connectors and delete them. Yes, this trick is super effective, but extremely annoying for players at any level. Is there any way to solve this problem once and for all?
Yeah let’s make it so any wall without a connector attached to it is destroyed. Pillarless walls are lame and look horrible.
They need to just change the cost of pillars relative to the distance covered, so if a long wall segment is like 5 wood make the pillar be 2 wood or something so it’s not worth making pillarless walls.
pillarless walls are also more quicker to build. Players delete them not just for wood.
The cost ain’t even a huge issue.
Pillars connect walls.
Objects that are basically " inside each other" therefore , spreading out the siege damage. Making a wider gap, than intended.
Then in addition to reducing cost of pillars make the build time much faster.
All they need to do is make it more convenient to just build normal walls without it costing much more or taking a lot more time.

I was thinking of less radical changes, not thay i didn’t thought of this same solution, but the more i think about it the more i think this is the only solution that would work to remove the abomination that is pillarless walls…
As stepgap change could be that pillars wouldn’t share some of their hitboxes with long walls so that if you go pillarless walls there will always be holes through which enemies can pass, but i know that someone would start to use that to funnel enemy unit in it and then attack with arty…
I never understand why people delete pillars when the build walls, someone can explain me please ?
Then people will spam them for LoS and to disrupt attack move and pathing.
The only good solution would be to make pillars cosmetic only.
pillar costs 5 wood the same as the large wall segment so you save a lot of wood by not using pillars, the wall also builds faster and without the pillars siege damage isn’t spread out as much to all surrounding wall segments.
lets make fort walls buildable, would be fun to experiment
I wish it would be possible to do that.
But iirc, The wall drawing system is ahrdcoded to these wall pieces.
Adding a new type would be WAYYYY to much work to be worth it.
