Reconsider the villagers’ bonus damage against siege units

They should reconsider removing the villagers’ bonus damage against siege weapons. Now, players can simply send siege units into a base, and villagers are basically useless against them. The whole point of giving villagers bonus damage against siege was precisely to prevent siege units from being left unprotected — which is something you’d naturally expect from any army. You don’t send cannons or catapults to the front lines alone; even tanks are accompanied by infantry.

I agree, removing the bonus damage against siege from villies is a huge mistake.

If I remember correctly, there was never a bonus from the villagers specifically for the portable ram.

In the original game, it has. I dont remember if in aom retold… But this unit is very broken.

They did in both games. Them removing it is prob a try to fix their balancing ideas for making siege necesary for taking down buildings. Rams and siege tower felt paper vs villagers because of the bonus. Vills still beat them, just take longer and now meele siege doesnt feel as useless when compared to range siege.

I agree this unit is ridiculous. If one connects with a building that’s not a fully upgraded fortress it is impossible to stop.
