Guys this carousel ad for the DLC’s we don’t own is really stressing me out. It’s super ugly and unnecessary! AOE is a very calming and enjoyable place for me, and ads really stress me out. Now when I sign in, I get that stressful feeling I get when seeing an ad. Thank you for ruining one of my most relaxing and calming parts of my day!

the devs graciously invited us to tell them what we hate. surely, without any doubt, changes are just around the corner.

I am really hoping! I know I can turn it off with a mod, but I shouldn’t have to use mods to fix a problem the devs created. Also, new players might not know how to use mods, so it could potentially turn them off from the game. People on console don’t have access to mods as well, so they’re stuck with it.

I experimented with blanking out file `${HOME}/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/AoE2DE/resources/_common/wpfg/WPFUI/Palm/Components/PalmCarousel.xaml` but multiplayer games would drop me about 20 minutes into a game, back to the main menu, without warning. My friends reported the game kept going, but I wasn’t in it anymore.
i agree about the relaxing aspect of aoe, dont you agree the ambiant sound on the home page is amazing ?
