Remove grassland posts

These grassland posts need to be removed. Again who is smoking when they create these anti-patterns. Why have something that auto spawns and can potential mess up your building placements? I am sick of working around this annoying mechanic. Just let us place a grassland post like a normal building and increase the number of grassland posts by one for each age. Easy fix.

It’s why I’ve quit playing the new DLC. Kind of like I’m going on strike, but really just out of aggravation because of the grassland issue. They definitely should not be procrastinating a fix for that. It’s clearly starting to vex more players.

Yeah these devs clearly never made a competitive rts game before. Their bandaid patches and ideas are starting to seem like they pull them out from their asses.

The wooden stakes should be placed freely by the player.

I have to agree. Jin Dynasty already struggles a lot. And the grassland spot spawning in the critical position without an opportunity to remove it quickly is a nightmare mechanic.
As an example that happened to me: you have just reached age 2, you have scouted incoming knights and you need the barracks asap. You have only 100 wood left and the damn grassland spot spawns between your tc and the woodline. You can not afford to put the grassland elsewhere just to free the lumber camp spot, so you build the lumber camp in an exposed position that leads to a villager loss and completely destroying your game plan.

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned is that these Grassland Posts actively destroy straggler trees. Meaning, if you’re trying to 2TC and place your Feudal Landmark anywhere close to your first TC, it might spawn a Grassland Post and eat up the necessary wood to make a second TC, requiring you to build a Lumber Camp (50 wood) and eat into a woodline.

That is a massive, massive L. I agree with the sentiment too, why make this random? If the reason was theme then my argument is that it always ought to outweigh the actual mechanical function. Meaning, it needs to be cool, interesting or offer some kind of horizontal function that encourages you.

The Grasslands could easily instead be a mechanic that can be fun to interact with, and be rewarding if properly utilized. But, the randomization makes this frankly impossible and actively works against you. Sometimes I don’t even find the Grassland Post that spawned, as the map becomes quite cluttered by Imperial.

I ask that this mechanic gets reconsidered. The Jin is already a civilization with lots of tiny additional mechanics.

Wasn’t mentioned but something I’ve experienced too. Other problems just come from being so cramped that you can’t even place your 2nd landmark because the first landmark’s posts are blocking you. I lost a game because I can’t even place my tower in the right place on my gold mine.

Do the devs even play Jin before they do this stuff? I feel like these are some basic no-nos for rts game design.
