Anyone else confused why the Japanese arrow ship is called “Wasen” and not “Atakebune”?
“Wasen” just means any Japanese-style boat, but tends to be used to refer to smaller sailboats.
“Atakebune” were large warships used during the Warring States period. With fortified hulls and a large square sail, these ships match the visual design of the unit in the game.
So why was the correct term not used here? Especially given the fact we already have the “Ramming Wasen” to go alongside it.
