So I heard there are removing the five gold per kill with caverly. Why not just replace it with food instead of removing it? That way Persians can generate food while killing units. The Persians are a heavy food civ, this will help them.
No, that should not be done. Such a bonus implies cannibalism, and should only be present in a civ known for cannibalism. As an example, I have a Melanesians civ with basically that exact bonus for infantry and archers, and it makes sense there because they represent Fiji, notorious for cannibalism. It makes no sense for the Persians.
No Persians don’t need any res genrating bonus, if anything Persians still need more nerfs.
Savar upgrade still too cheap for what you get, needs an increase.
Even the Citadels UT also way too cheap for the effect you get.

WTF??? They just outright taking a bonus away? Not even tweaking it? Are they at least replacing it with something else? Now the Persians are just gonna be bland again.
The Gold bonus never really fit the Persians, many people complained about it.
You’d expect to see such a bonus in other civilisations like the Huns.
I dont think getting 5 food is cannibalism, it suggests that after the kill the unit got the snacks from the kill upon searching its pockets. 100 food on the other side would suggest cannibalism.
Nah, the Savar, CA Parthian Tactics and new UT already made them interesting, the gold bonus was just overkill, I’m glad they are removing it and potentially saving it for another civ
Right??? I think it’s an awful move. There was nothing wrong with the bonus before. It wasn’t really that strong.
AT least give them something in return to strengthen cav archers in late game. One thing about that bonus was that it inadvertantly also encouraged cav archer play as they would generate gold.
good that they removed that awful bonus. resource generation upon killing a unit should not be a civ trait. at most it should be a unique tech/part of a UU. but even then i think resource generation when fighting is better (a la keshik)
quite a disturbing bonus you suggest there, I would limit the gold generation to CA because with this nerf, there is no point of using Persian CA.
