I would like an explanation from the moderators, I obtained 1602 points in the 1x1 rating with a lot of effort and sweat, and for some reason without me playing much less losing any game my rating decreased to 1597, that is, 5 points were simply discounted out of nowhere in the 1x1 random map, I would like some explanation for this, because I love the game and I am disappointed.
If you dont play for some time you slowly lose points. It ALWAYS has been like that.
I disagree, I played the last game last week and I have another account with 1400 with 12 games and no points were ever deducted, what could be happening?
Disagree with what, exactly? There IS point decay in the game. Though, if you last played one week ago, your ELO should be intact
That’s stupid. Why is that a thing?
Elo decay is a common thing in online games at higher Elo. It won’t kick in at 1k Elo where the vast majority of all players sits.
Elo decay happens to 1600+ elo
If you haven’t played for a long time your skill needs to be re-evaluated for multiple reasons:
- You didn’t have practice
- The meta has changed
- The game balance was changed
- The map pool has changed
- New content has been added
You are not supposed to have a second account and play on that so you are not allowed to have “practice” by playing on another account.
Thinking about it more, yeah, it does actually make sense. There’s no way that someone could take a break from a game for months and still be just as good. This encourages them to keep practicing.
So that’s it, above 1600+ if I don’t play for 15 days I lose -5 points. I didn’t know about this rule, is it -5 every two weeks? Because of my indignation, I’ve been playing since 1999 with a group of loyal friends and I play more team games, I wanted to put 1600+ just to not seem so noob, in short that’s it, if anyone has any more details about these rules, please let me know.
So Hera has like 3000 Elo?
Yes, he actually achieved 3k but Elo decay hit him.
That’s amazing!
