Please read ops initial post, clearly he has no clue about aoe/ror.
Or he implies adding UTs and UUs is an upgrade that goes without saying to bring RoR more in line with AOE2.
I came up with unique tech ideas for all the ROR civs some time ago, including the potential Israelites. Here are the ones I made for them:
Ark of the Covenant (infantry receive +1/+1 armor, +20 HP, and +2 attack if an Artifact is garrisoned inside a Temple), Skillful Engineers (towers and catapults +25% attack)
Interesting choices.
Another one that could be used is the Jubilee : a custom that every 50 years, all debts would be canceled and it would be anounced by blowing the trumpets in the town. This was used to counter the phemomen of debt-slavery, which made most of the population of cities like Babylon slaves to their creditors due to accumulating so much debt, they could no longer afford to pay it back (this killed the economy and society, to the point the Babylonians opened the gates to Cyrus instead of resisting). So, this invented the concept of bankrupcy (and by extension legitimised interests to compensate for the risk of bankrupcy).
It sounds like it would have some economic boost, possibly gold-related.
So that in the Bronze Age, and a religion/defensive tech in the Iron Age to showcase their resilience and tendancy to revolt, mixing your 2 choices (āskilled engineersā doesnāt sound exclusive enough)
I mean thereās literally nothing stopping you from adding the civ to RoR yourself.
RoR is a dead game though.
If Israelites were to be added to RoR (that would require RoR to not be dead tho), Iād personally want them under the name Hebrews lmao
I still think RoR needs UUs, and the 3K civs should have gone to RoR instead of even Chronicles
I maintain my position since the last jew thread -
- anachronism is bad and should be reduced
- a period relevant jewish civs is the khazars is ok.
Itās for RoR so for AOE1 ported in AOE2, not for medieval AOE2.
(the unit balance being completely difference makes it unthinkable to mix the 2)
Including unique units/technologies as part of Return of Romeās civilizations (all of them) was a bonus idea, nothing to be overthinking about. And yes, I know gameplay differs between AOE1 and AOE2, I just thought it would be a great idea to bring uniqueness to each civilization (although I only mentioned Israelites in this thread).
May a suggest a second UU ?
Davidās slinger : an alternative slinger, who ignores armour and has a bonus attack vs heavy infantry.
I donāt think I need to explain where this unit comes from.
