also that one may undermine aoe 4 as being one of the most 'played games in gamepass as the quantity of ppl playing is not worth the investment for crossplay or ms has some s… behind on the coding or smth else

Please Microsoft include the cross play for age 4.
Correct me if I’m wrong but, for example, not even Xbox FIFA players could play with PS5 players!!

You realize more than half of the players on Xbox use keyboard and mouse right? This whole “ew controller” is the most cope nonsense I’ve ever seen.
I am not sure where you get data for that claim but ok… controller is ok with The game and it depends on single person taste. Not everyone want to play super competitive maybe some just want to relax and play with friends across xbox and pc. I am playing on ps an xbox for more than 10 years and never wanted to add keyboard and mouse to this settings

Any update would be great. Really looking forward to this feature as I bought it on PC since I had read cross platform was supported and was disappointed when i realized it wasn’t.

Does an xbox player with mouse & keyboard have any disadvantage compared to a pc player?
Why dont you ask the much larger AOE2 community with PC to Xbox crossplay? I’m sure they can enlighten you.

I dont know if they changed the Xbox interface. If it hasn’t changed, the Xbox player will have a disadvantage. To build anything on Xbox you need 2 clicks. The first to select whether it is an economic or military building, and the second to choose the build you actually want.
There was also a difference in the hotkeys. Not all hotkeys available for PC were available on Xbox.
In any case, the addition of crossplay was already a huge step forward.

I personally would love this to happen, the more players, the better for this game!
Though, since Mac Computers and Laptops are using their very own hardware (apple specific CPU especially), I don’t see much hope for an iOs client being coded for.
The hardware and software structure is super different from the PC one, so it would take a tremendous amount of work to create an iOs client. Not sure, wether it would even pay off for the relatively small amount of apple users who are interested in aoe4.
