I voted no because sand gets everywhere.

There’s more to tropical beaches than just sand.

I’m gonna put some sand in your eye.

I mean no one is going to stop you from making a tropical beach map.
We have sandy terrain, palm trees and water.

Yes, but we need more tropical maps in the map rotation for matchmaking. This is an advantage Stormgate has right now over Retold.

I don’t know how it will be like in AoMR but for AoE2DE people vote in the maps for the map rotation so if someone (like you) makes a good tropical beach map that becomes popular people might vote it into the ranked pool.

Also why does it have to be in the ranked pool. AoMR has a lot more to offer then just ranked matches. AoMR is a lot less about competitive multiplayer then Stormgate.

It doesn’t have to be just in matchmaking, but from what we’ve seen in the Beta, there hasn’t really been a tropical map yet so I am concerned.

The beta didn’t even let us choose what map we want to play.

The AoE/AoM community has a lot of talented map creators so why shouldn’t there be some nice tropical beach maps, AoMR should have all the necessary assets for it.

Speaking of maps. I did not see any of the darker originale maps. Like Erebus or Volcano in Retold?

There were none or?

They were not in the beta map rotation but they are ingame plus a new Muspilheim map.

Jump onto the AOMR wiki - there’s a list of all the new maps and I saw (somewhere, can’t recall off the top of my head) all the old maps, including things like Land Unknown, will also be there.
Some of the new maps look epic. We’ve got an arena and a “Black Forest” version. And a cool new one that had a forest wall running through the middle that will allow for a bit of booming, so larger battles when they happen

Forest wall will be fun. Finally a good use for Forest Fire!

Yes, I think that if they add the Aztecs to the second DLC they will include tropical maps of the Caribbean and Central America…
