It has ranked lobbies.
I, of course, expect from devs to add automatic matchmaking, at least for ranked, sooner or later… and for quick play. I don’t worry, I would say.
Save me from lobby decadence of being kicked for being too good and too bad at the same time, for the taste of every lobby host I meet.

It is really a big mistake of the devs to not add a ranked match making system to AoE1. It would make the multiplayer experience so much smoother.
Totally agree with you, actual system is waste of time because players you meet are too strong or too weak
