Most of my opponents spamming Migdols permanently
While enemy sitting under it with 1/5 my military count
Yet I cant push into their 5 Migdols
Which is turning into a boring catapults war
Im going back to aoe4 untill devs realize the stupid and never asked for changes they made

This is a bit brazen. You might not enjoy it, I personally feel that the durability buff is maybe a bit over tuned, but this was definitely asked for A LOT.

exactly. The problem is that devs pushed too much on fortress type buff.
By the way, it’s been a common problem in Retold. Too many nerfs or buffs at the same time and a lot of them are like 10-15%+ changes. They could be more careful. One patch they destroy a civ or unit, than 1 or 2 patches later, they make it too strong again lol
Phew i’m glad i’m not one of these devs.. people threatening them to quit playing their game that’s harsh. Kick em when they down why don’t you haha.
I hope they figure it out before the next DLC playerbase wise AoM isn’t doing well at all.
I do genuinely hope it keeps doing unwell, it’s crazy that the devs are ruining this game to this massive extent and are getting away with it, promoting a specific meta style and path is fine, but shifting the game to a more toxic/spam meta? a boring meta? and by now actually people are abusing it across all elos

players as low as 300 elo have learned these strats and are using it

I don’t like the building buff either, generally when you do that in an RTS people tend to turtle up and spam the best building (the fortress in this case). It’s quite toxic and I don’t like playing against buildings.
If they buff mythic units and god powers, that might be great because it’s the age of mythology after all, but buff buildings is meh…
The patch completely destroyed the game
, It only benefits players who use catapults and long-range units spam. Those kinds of games are horrible and boring. A 4 v 4 game lasts more than 2 hours, even 3 hours. the Egyptian players only spam migdols and chariot archers with catapults to win a match because they become indestructible. The game has become a bad copy of AOE 4.
I completely disagree, I really love how my defensive playstyle got a buff after all these years.
What you mean all this years, retold isnt even 1 year old.
defensive style is one thing,we get you like to turtle untill you get going/is stable, what we see now is a toxic spamming style, with fortresses creeping into your base with catapult wars, I’m not sure how you would ever enjoy playing an rts like this
let alone playing against it of course, everyone is mega spamming this in ranked against you as well.
I was referring ever since the original game, as even there it wasn’t very viable.
Up until this patch literally no one in my games was building siege weapons, now they are forced to which is good and more healthy for the game.
Thats odd since the “make buildings stronger” initiative came from people saying towers were actualy useful in the prior game (theres videos comparing how fast they took to kill a hoplite and such) and fortreses were stronger.
what do you mean? were you playing vs AI? they always made siege against me
but when they did last patch it was to a healthy and realistic extent
nowadays enemy egyptian will have 3 camels and 5 CATAPULTS against me
but I can never push into him cause of the so many Migdols + empowerment
and you never win that in ANY ELO because of his better fortress and better siege units
are you telling me this is healthy for the game and isn’t toxic?
I can’t shed my own opinion about this patch cause I haven’t played much. But so far I haven’t had many issues with it.
Magic said in his video that castles in and of themselves aren’t the problem, Migdols with empowerment are the problem. Is this also your case? or you just find all castles across all civs broken.
