Rome should get a road building mechanic

Roads were very crucial for the roman army and their economy, will be awesome to see a new building called roads which increases movement speed and stop wildlife from wandering to these road tiles. Allies can use these road tiles for trade cars and faster military movement.

Tbh I would like if they removed the current eco bonus but instead would make something like: "Units move 20 % faster near Drop-Off buildings.
Passively this would also increase the res collection especially for wood and farms.

And it could also be used militarily, especially in defence.

I like the idea but for Chronicles.
The Rome in AoE2 is in decline and does not construct roads anymore.

I think the main issue would probably the path finding. Is it able to compute differences in speed on different surfaces?
Also how will it interact with formations. Since formations are wide but armies on the march are long.

In some ways the Caravanserai is kinda of the discount version or a road system.
