:point_down: *I have been playing the game for some time and never had this issue, then suddenly today, the game wont allow me to open my saved game, it seems that the game has updated to version 100.15.59076.0. I have no idea why this would have suddenly happened. I have got a long way into the game and don’t want to have to start again. I am really hoping someone can please assist me.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

An update will always break the savegame.
I´m afraid you will have to play a new match, and disable automatic updates for the game ^^

Thank you does that mean I have to start from the beginning? How would I disable the auto updates is it in the game itself or a windows thing? Thank you so much!

I am also doing the story mode, not match mode.

The story is saved in " Chapters " or Scenarios o:
So i´m sure you dont have to do the entire campaign again :smiley:

  • Open the Microsoft Store application. - Click on your Windows account avatar in the top right corner and select “Settings”. - Under “Application updates”, toggle the “Off” option "Automatically update applications " to turn it off.

Thank you if I do the above and will it be ok to save the game again? Or will I have the same issue?

Usually patches dont come that often, I´m sure you have time to play till March without any issues :slight_smile:

I actually solved this issue on my computer. In my own case with AOE 3 DE in Steam, which is where mine is. I had to open Steam in top left corner > Settings > Interface > Client Beta Participation > No Beta Chosen - Toggle to (Steam Beta Update).

After switching to Beta version, my steam Client installed updates.

I then opened AOE3 DE and started a campaign mission. Saved with a manual save. Quit back to the main menu. Opened load saved games. Clicked the new one and it loaded.

Actually I think even one’s that were not loading before loaded as well, not sure about that those though.

P.S. The reason I found out the saves were not loading was when I deleted the Userdata folder from program86x files>steam>userdata. After I deleted this and opened steam, all of a sudden I got a cloud icon with exclamation point to the left of it. All I had to do is detect why this was, hence, i.e. - switch to beta version.
