Scenario Editor Terrain Limit?

Why is this a thing in retold?
Not even De3 has a terrain limit in the editor which are near identical to this version of the branch.

Nope AoE3DE also has a terrain limit.
Instead of a warning it just deletes some random terrain an replaces it with a fallback.

AoE3DE cliffs don’t use terrain so you have a little more usable terrains.
Maybe the limit is also higher.

It’s annoying in both games and I don’t really understand why. It can’t cost that much VRAM.

In AOM:R it’s a soft suggestion, not actually a hard limit. Broch made a Skyrim map that vastly exceeded the limit without any repercussions.

I assume it’s a warning so people know it might cause issues on low-end machines.

I never have managed to reach it, even on really big maps when I’m making complex cave systems, snowy mountains, forest areas and desert environments.
