Scenario Editor test keeps crashing at exactly the same point

I’ve been making quite a few scenarios lately, but my latest one crashes at the exact same point every time I test it.

It’s not a particularly straining level, half the size and complexity of some others. But it opens with a small fight (about 40 units) and about a few seconds in, it freezes and then the game closes with no prompt to send a bug alert. I don’t have any triggers/conditions/effects going on.

Anyone know what’s going on?

Try going to the following directory:

C:\Users\ “USERNAME” \Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\logs

Replace “USERNAME” with whatever you are using on your PC.

It ‘may’ give you a hint as to what is happening. Although, not a guarantee.

Got in, not sure what I am looking for in there.

If nothing notable in the logs, all I can suggest is to look over your triggers/xs/data mod very carefully. (Assuming you have some/one.)

There are none. I hadn’t gotten as far as triggers yet.

Oof… In that case, what about disabling all mods, and verifying game files? Also, restart the game too.

If this does not help, maybe it’s your PC. Such as firewalls/antivirus/misc programs. (Make sure your PC is updated too.)

If this is not the issue, then, I dunno what it could be… Maybe something broken in the game code? If so, you would have to send a support ticket in that case on the main website of www.ageofempires.com.

No mods are on, because they checks notes crash my computer…

Gotcha. I’ll give it another try when I can.

That’s really helpful, thanks!
