Select All Military Should Not Include Pharaoh

Issue:

The “select all military hotkey” should not select the Pharaoh (at least not while he’s empowering an economic building). It’s very annoying to use “select all military” in the heat of the moment and have your Pharaoh walk away from what he’s meant to be doing. Similar issue occurs when using “select military on screen”.

Trigger Event:

Use “select all land military” or “select military on screen” hotkey while Pharaoh is empowering something.

Repro Steps:

  1. Empower a building
  2. Press “select all land military hotkey”
  3. Notice that Pharaoh gets selected with your military units

Very much agreed. Same goes with priests that are empowering.

It’s not a bug unfortunately, but the devs should change how this works. The hoteky shouldn’t include priests or pharaohs that are empowering.

I just gave my first shot at egyptians and this would be a huge QoL improvement!

Playing through egyptian campaign and they feel almost unplayable with the select all military constantly moving pharaoh and priests around that you just want to stay in base. Same with the “select heroes” hotkey, I want to be able to quickly set my heroes to attack myth units without bringing the pharaoh in. It is super frustrating!!:frowning:

So i played set yesterday and it didnt include pharao, played Isis, then it did include pharao lol. Might have been bugged or something, but it was confusing af.

That’s interesting. I wonder if it’s related to the kinda weird behaviour of the “easy military drag-select” feature, where if you have it turned on, drag select does not include a Pharoah, but if you hold down ctrl when you drag, it does include Pharoah. Meanwhile, if you hold alt it selects Pharoah…and villagers, but not military.
