The current Steam numbers and the apparent performance of Baltic Powers are concerning. Please don’t give up on Age of Empires III: DE. There is still a dedicated community here, but the game needs continued support, visibility and updates to regain momentum.

Wouldnt expect any increase before the DLC

They are. They remained pretty stable.

I think during the open beta, we had a peak of 7k.

What are you talking about? TBE hasn’t even released, so there’s no performance to monitor, and AOE3’s player numbers are up from before the Open Beta.

Maybe you can volunteer to help the Baltic Powers unreleased-game numbers then? Perhaps pre-purchase it for many people?

AoE3 has a dedicated community but even if every AoE3 player buys the Baltic DLC, it won’t reach AoE2 numbers. I think AoE3 DE already beat AoM Retold numbers.

Independence mode might catch the eyes of some potential new players, but being DLC only, its exposure is limited. We can support the game but let’s be reasonable.

I do admit, If the AoE3 player count surpasses the AoE4 player count, it would make for a good comeback story.

You need to check the steam charts, support is over:(

Yes, if that happens with the DLC, reaching at least 10k would be a great comeback…

I think its over, because the dlc has not been sold well so far. Check the charts. The throw it under the bus.

Nah, we shouldn’t be so pessimistic… we just have to wait for the DLC to come out and wait at least a month… I already have the DLC and I never get tired of promoting it in AoE FB groups with thousands of players…

You sound like one of those weirdos who only plays Dutch and Ottomans while calling HoopThrower “Eurocentric gamer” after being called out for only maining 2 civs.

Please leave and take all your doomer friends who kept saying that “there won’t be any DLCs for AoE3DE”…

The DLC wasn’t released yet so don’t make silly assumptions!

Oh yeah?

Well my dad who works at Microsoft, bill gates, said James dlc was going to leave aoe3 unplugged from the mainframe unless he got a morbillion copies and if we did James would make a dlc for every german state that ever existed.

That’s right folks. Aoe3 electric boogaloo with Ulm and Dithmarshen can happen only if we sell a mere 6 gorillion units. And here you are, stopping it with such facetious claims as “how can we count preorders”

Please reflect on your choices and “temporal precedence in decision making”

It’s strange that people on the forum are reporting poor sales figures, because I just checked the sales rankings for top-selling games on Steam and saw that AoE III is at #181 and the Baltic Powers DLC is at #206. That’s not bad at all considering they are among the top 1,000 best-selling games on the list; it would only be a cause for concern—as the author suggested—if AoE III and its DLC were languishing at the very bottom of the list.

I can’t tell if you’re being serious with the doomer takes or if you’re taking the piss.

By the way, I actually have a weird and interesting idea for world edge, maybe can they could make another aoe mobile games, not the current age of empire mobile but something like a mobile iOS paid game called Northgard by playdigious. They should consider about it .

Top 100 right now, at #80 position

The DLC is doing solid so far. Once we get to the weekend, we’ll get a better picture of how things are going.
