Senario editor change technology cost is really bugged

When trying to use the effect ‘change technology cost’ it can never work as intended. It will always cost the wrong amount of resource you try. (either more or less)

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. go to senario editor
  2. change the cost of any technology in anyway
  3. observe results

:arrow_forward: EXPECTED RESULT

The cost of the technology you change will never be as intended

:arrow_forward: IMAGE

:point_down: ALWAYS attach a PICTURE (.jpg, .png, .gif) or VIDEO (.mp4, YouTube link) that highlights the problem.

:arrow_forward: GAME FILES (SAVE / RECORDING)

:point_down: Attach a SAVE GAME (.aoe2spgame) or GAME RECORDING (.aoe2record) of the match where you encountered the issue. Link it below if using an external file service.

This is not a fix, but in the meanwhile, could you see if you get the desired effect using XS?

In my experience it’s the gold cost you can never change. They said they would have fixed that some time ago…

IIRC, the PUP fixed this. (I have yet to check/test it though.)

well, maybe not? The way it’s worded sounds like it’s not… I’ll give it a check though…

It seems SamePorpoise303 is correct. Gold is broken. (Note that you can only have 3 costs btw.)

yeah i’ve noticed if you change the gold cost, it’ll be ‘free’ or use no gold.
Whereas I also changed a technology to cost only 75 food yet when testing it, it cost 250 food and like 100 wood or so… really strange, hopefully next patch fixes it.

well, i suppose it’s not super urgent. I don’t know how to use XS scripting right now, but since I plan for this mod to actually be quite expansive, I may look into it if I have to.
