Using a 1070ti with latest drives, setting textures to
High blocks the main game thread every time there is a GPU memory usage spike (as shown in the image below) causing the game to ‘freeze’ when said spike occurs. This ‘freeze’ occurs at all times in the game including:
- Main menu
- In-game cinematics.
Game framerate is not an issue even when the ‘freezing’ occurs so it is not a performance problem (or at least not an obvious one).
Setting textures to low still spikes GPU RAM at the same amount and interval without blocking main thread.
