Shore houses, an idea for future tropical civs

The Shore House could function as an complement, rather than a replacement to standard mainland houses and it could be available for future tropical civs, including Carib and Taino.

The difference or gimmick are:

  • Can be built along the shoreline.
  • Able to train Fishing Ships
  • Allows Fishing and Oyster Forager villagers to drop off resources there

I suggested houses that could be built on shallows for a Venetian-style civilization a long time ago. Simply make regular houses buildable on shores and in shallow water.

Main drawback would be you can wall off crossings with the houses or create bbottlenecks.

Yes, it’s a good option, maybe they’ll implement it if they add Polynesians…

Maybe six type. Can be just a scenario editor building.

Venetian (use the south european architectural set)

Aztec (use the central american architectural set). The Aztec build their capital on a lake.

Malay (use the south east asian architectural set)

Polynesian : can be the same as the Malay

Tropical american : Cristobal Colon see this type of House and then name the country : Venezuela

African (use the african architectural set) see Wikipedia article about : Ganvié

Can you share an image? It’s the Spanish name of Columbus so it’s tough to find architecture named like this on Google

Sorry I made a mistake, it’s not Colombus but Amerigo Vespucci when he see stilt houses. See the etymology of Venezuela

Ok, I understand now – Amerigo Vespucci named Venezuela after Venice because they built stilt houses there.

Its just a house with terrain restrictions removed so any civi can have using own house skins.
