For those who might not know, real-life elephants are fast, not slow! Have you ever heard of an elephant stampede? Elephants can reach incredibly high speeds in real life, up to 40 km/h. So, if elephants are truly fast, why are they so incredibly slow in the game, especially when war elephants already cost a lot of resources and take up significant population space? There are players who genuinely dislike excessively slow units—it’s just boring!
There are also players who enjoy slow units, I don’t know about balance but I think If they need a buff I would much rather see them get buffed in any other aspect than speed.
No they shouldn’t get a speed buff because with more speed they would become a terror causing balance issues.
I think they should be a bit smaller on collision detection so they are easier to micro, even with the same slow speed.
Not everything has to be realistic. Thou if you wanna go that route, the elephant is also carrying stuff along its way and no animal perma runs.
The elephant is the single most cost effective units pop wise in the whole game. It beatsalmost everything pop cost wise. Its also meant to be this slow siege unit like a colossus or a scarab. Balance wise it would be too strong if it could outrun infantry and archers. They would be quite unstopable.
Theres always gonna be a slow unit. Be it a siege unit, a myth unit or a slow human unit. Its all relative.
