Should Ra Rain God power have an effect on fishing ships?

Rain is a god power that offers increased food gather rate from farms. Its not unusual that games come and go before casting the go power due to the requirement of needing to invest on farms.

On water maps this is even more of an issue in my opinion. Unless you loose water control and loose your fishing ships theres no reason to ever use Rain in a water map. Having a god power sitting there being useless feels bad imo.

Other economical type of god powers like lure or great hunt still have usage since you dont need overcomitment of resources to make them work, and they offer a temporary source of extra food. Prosperity and dwarven gold mine works wonders in any map. Shenong farms and shrine of the hunt still see use as a means to secure resources due to their secondary effect of making units invisible / wolf spawn.

Would like it if Ra´s Rain god power had an effect on ships. EE had a boost in wood gather rate, which thematically doesnt make much sense, i would rather it boost fishing ships gather rate. Tunning wise it can for sure be less powerful than its effect on farms.

What do you guys think?

i assume you get the idea casue one of the by far best things which came with the blood dlc is that rain can interact with blood. i understand where you are coming from but does it makes sense that rain boost food when fish are already in water? wouldn’t it make more sense that rain get changes to fishfood when used on water? then it would make more sense - one the other hand this game is fantasy and mythos it isn’t and shouldn’t be too realistic so maybe your idea that rain boost food gathering for fishing ships isn’ that bad. whatver it will be or could be rain should be more useful on water maps i agree.

Not really, i was working on a water build other for eggy and after playing several water matches i rarely had a use for Rain unless i lost water and was already behind and had no other choice.

Theres not much mythology or logic theme going one here, true. Im simply targeting the gameplay dynamic of the game. Having a dead god power feels bad imo from a design stand point.

Anything that would make it not be that in water maps i would be on board with as long as its not broken. As i mentioned EE boosted wood gathering.

Anything else you could create some sort of explanation, even if it isnt realistic, then again Ra the freaking sun god has a god power thats casts Rain, a dynamic he has no asociation with in his mythos as far as im aware, so i dont hold the realism criteria too highly.

Rain could “call out fish” so you gather them faster, Rain could guide the boats to their destination or w/e. Rains could make the seas turbulent hindering opponents fish gathering (this Personally i dont like as hindering others eco usually is un fun to play against).

The explanation to why it works can always be made up imo.
