Should Steam Release be delayed?
There are various reasons why I think release in October is a bad Idea.

1 Steam Sales

Its not like a steam sale is a bad thing, but usually why would you pay 60 Dollars 1 game, if you can buy for 60 Dollars 4 games?

When do Steam sales usually happen? Well usually:
Steam Lunar New Year Sale 2021: February 11th - February 15th, 2021
Steam Golden Week Sale 2021: April 29th - May 6th, 2021
Steam Spring Sale 2021: May 27th - 31st, 2021
Steam Summer Sale 2021: June 24th - July 8th, 2021
Steam Halloween Sale 2021: Likely the end of October 2021
Steam Black Friday/Autumn Sale 2021: Likely November 24th, 2021
Steam Winter Sale 2021: December 2021

2 In general a game needs a large Beta test prior to release before its introduced to a large audience.

We have seen quite a lot of times, that a game released on steam too early flops.

-slight bugs here and there = negative rating/refund
-slight FPS drop = negative rating/refund
-gameplay exploits = negative rating/refund
-lack of content = negative rating/refund

From perspective of average player release this is it, game is either bad or good.

Additional development time, with an extended beta can make some wonders, like fix here and there gameplay nuances, have at proper launch proper game mods, have crucial content like more factions, tech and units.

No I dont think it should be. I think it opens up an even wider player base since a lot of people use steam for PC games.

Does it open a “wider player base” if game has very bad ratings on steam and very low player numbers?
Look at recent big names like Cyberpunk 2077, Crucible, Predator: Hunting Grounds, Disintegration, Warcraft 3: Reforged and Stronghold: Warlords.

A constantly classic case of a games is to show promise, but at the very next second, stumble under the weight of its many issues.

Yeah iam too. I dont like the microsoft store interface and almost every game i have is on steam… so its an easy choice.

No it shouldn’t be delayed as that would make the player-base suffer because people has to wait to play on their preferred service.

How can we vote on that when we don’t know in what state the game is. This treat is meaningless.

there is 1 more thing mod tools are planned for 2022,
I think game should launch with mod tools, so delay will be really a good thing.
