Should the future of the game be managed by player community?

As the title says, given that the DLC is cancelled, and no future patches/updates are promised, I think it is time for the community to manage the game.

What the Devs could do before they step away from managing the game (pretending they have not yet), is to make all mods including DATA MODS multiplayer compatible - e.g. modded rooms to be shown in multiplayer lobby.

Should the game be managed by player community?

  • Yes, the player community should build its own patches
  • No, the game should remain as is

They should have the decency to make all the game free to play, liberate the code, and refund all money!

Much as before, the whole community needs to line up behind ESOC and move over to a community patch. They couldn’t kill us before and they won’t now.

How does one come to that conclusion?

100% support take 3DE back to the community. it’s a pity they never considered big optimizations, not even FSR or DLSS, while the steam’s RTS Fest demo already Included.

Liberating the code sounds fair. Is the minimun.

Honestly since World Edge decided to do nothing more on aoe3de, if we want the game to live, there are not 36 solutions, it’s up to us as a community to make it live now.

and it’s ridiculous 3DE still doesn’t have versus AI matchmaking. meanwhile both 2DE and Age 4 had it years ago. how hard can it be?

Community patches should start by bug fixing and do extensive review of each units, mercs, and native roles and what supposed to counter it
