Right now there no way to see teammate resources count in the game. If we can see ally Resources counts in Tribute window next to each resource send buttons, it will be easier to send the resources team mates need to archive a certain goal. Either help them age up, get a TC or Wonder etc. also we can see who has the resources we need and ask them. Maybe have simplistic view toggle in settings so we can have the simple view as now or turn on ally resources mode as well for tribute window.
Score and resources two different topics therefore your reply is completely irrelevant. Please make a new thread regarding your concerns or find a thread that discusses the topic. sorry
I already made another thread. Sorry, I misunderstood the topic of the message when you mentioned resources.
About sharing resource views:
I don’t know. Is there another franchise or RTS game where this mechanic works?
As far as I know, it doesn’t happen in AoE2 or AoE3. Since it would be too much work to test them individually, let’s use GPT chat instead:
There are real-time strategy (RTS) games that allow you to view your allies’ resources during the game, although it’s not a universal feature. Here are some examples and cases:
RTS games where you can see allies’ resources (fully or partially):
1. StarCraft II (Blizzard)
In co-op and team multiplayer games, you can see your allies’ resources if you enable the “Share Vision” option, and sometimes “Share Resources.”- You can also easily send resources between allies.
- It’s one of the most comprehensive games in this regard.
2. Age of Empires IV (Relic Entertainment / Xbox Game Studios)
You can’t directly see your allies’ resources (at least until mid-2025), but you can send resources and see their overall rating.- You could indirectly tell their economy from their units/buildings.
3. Warcraft III (Blizzard)
You can see your allies’ resources if you share control or in specific games with “vision sharing” and “resource sharing.”- Quite flexible for co-op.
4. They Are Billions
It doesn’t have multiplayer, but if it did, its style doesn’t seem to include resource sharing or viewing other people’s economies.
5. Zero-K (based on Spring Engine)
You can see allies’ resources in real time (energy, metal), and it has a very cooperative economy system.- Additionally, you can share units, buildings, and resources.
- It’s free and open source.
6. Supreme Commander / Forged Alliance
You can see your allies’ resources (energy, mass), automatically share resources, and synchronize economic strategies.- It’s one of the most economically cooperative games.
Northgard (Shiro Games)
You can’t directly see your allies’ resources.- You can see their territories, buildings, and units if you share vision.
- You can send resources (food, wood, kröwns, etc.) to your allies.
- But you don’t see how much they have; you can only estimate it based on their development.
- In short: cooperation yes, shared economy not so much.
Company of Heroes (1, 2, and 3)
You can see the resource points controlled by your allies, but not the exact resources they possess (manpower, fuel, ammunition).- You can coordinate strategies, but you can’t share or see resources directly.
- More tactical than economic.
Halo Wars (1 and 2)
You cannot see your allies’ resources.- You can cooperate and make joint strategies, but the economy is completely separate.
Grey Goo or Ashes of the Singularity
- In general,
does not allow you to directly see allies’ resources. - Although sometimes you can share vision or provide some kind of indirect help.
Well, apparently there are some games that have this mechanic, many from Blizzard (Starcraft II, Warcraft 3), but others a Company of heroes do too.
That said, this mechanic could change the gameplay as we kwow a bit:
- How many allies would ask their other allies for resources if they saw they had more, or
- How many allies would ask to improve your eco if they see your gathering rate is bad
- But synergy, of course is gonna be a lot.
