But it’s done now, so surely they’re going to return to AoE2, right? I feel like any DLC/balance updates for Retold can be handled by a different team, as it’s no longer all hands on deck.
Not quite. Balance patches, DLCs (although China looks already pretty far along), and we don’t know how teams are orientated. So they still have things to do.
Not to mention whatever backlog AoM caused in the first place that needs sorting out.
Although the more panicky tone of the “we still plan to do old-style DLCs!” make me think that the March/April one will likely “business as usual”. I think doing two in a row without anything for multiplayer was pushing it. And while BfG looks far better than V&V, the latter and the lack of updates still left a bad taste in the mouth, which BfG does not wash out for everyone.
I want new style of DLC like the ones that introduced new castles, new buildings, new regional units and new mechanics like the new DLC. It seems there is so much to expand that I could never imagine 25 years ago.
After TMR or V&V, I’m not sure which, the what is on the horizon section said - In 2025, there will be something that we can never guess. We can try but definitely won’t be successful.
IDK what that mean. But at this rate my guess is Star War Galactic Battleground remaster inside AoE2 as a DLC.
I thought they said that about just later, so this could have been the “you will never guess”. Because hell, I don’t think anyone had this on their radar.
Honestly, the thing we’d never guess was probably the Chronicles thing that just was revealed, given from the DLC name it was planned since before V&V, and V&V was probably a stopgap after Chronicles went behind schedule.
I was kinda expecting it since Indian dynasties DLC… Because Indian dynasties DLC came after the Dharma mod got popular… But I didnt realize it would be this quick
Considering the last aoe3 DLC was from May 2022 and the DLC announced in February has just been delayed, I would bet that game is pretty low on their priority list.
