after some recent several patches (unsure since when, maybe 4-5 months ago), the exported .smx files as building but as bridges started to occlude units instead of showing beneath them.

now only the official SLD are unaffected and this need fixes as it breaks all exported bridges type building graphics in SMX for all existing mods

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. create a custom graphic, say for example a carpet
  2. export it as building from slx studio but choose as bridge
  3. place it in the game and watches unit gets occluded

units does not get occluded

Can we really call this a bug as we are using fan made tools to create smx/sld?

What we really should get is official tools to make modding easier.

imo it should be called as bug, since smx is something they originally supported and continue to decide to support due to all the mods out there pretty much still use SMX format

if they decided to remove this feature they should have it in patch note, since they didnt and this somehow changed in one of the recent patch I can only conclude its broken, just like what they did to pathing and bunch of other stuff. adding new stuff breaking old stuff is very common for them.

Hi there, as mentioned in Update 93001 patch notes, DESpriteTool is officially available for producing SMP, SMX, and SLD.

is there a clear instruction or guideline somewhere on how to use DESprite Tool?
