A lot has been said about the fulani, but i just noticed while checking the wiki is that the fulani and jungle bowman range attack has no minimum range, which for reference normally is 2 for light infantry
heavy infantry like muskets normally dont have this minimum range , which is why they still use range fire against charging cav until they are in basically melee.
The reason for this is probably that they are meant to fill the main firing line role somewhat so the behaviour of them trying to melee units is not desired
but i realised this is probably why these 2 units feel very different to micro especially against cav, in addition to the instant animation and stuff since this means that the the bulk of them will not try to melee cav that are chasing them and get the entire formation snared.
