How did Son of Ornlu reach Mexico? What happened after his father was defeated in Mongolia? What could be the original lore behind this?

CD/HD lore: he fled to Korea, hijacked three Elite Turtle Ships (the Gaia units in Broken Spears), and sailed them to Lake Texcoco. It’s a 315-year journey for a wolf – impressive that he made it, really.
DE lore: since Turtle Ships hadn’t been invented yet, he stole Elite Cannon Galleons instead. Shortly after the release of Lords of the West, Koreans were given Elite Cannon Galleons purely to ensure the consistency of this version.

If a wolf is already strong enough to take on half of Genghis Khan’s horde, swimming across the Bering Strait doesn’t seem that big in comparison.
Alternatively… he followed Genghis’s horde into China then waited until the Yuan got overthrown by the Ming. The wolf then boarded one of Zheng He’s ships that are said to have reached America (a myth but the wolf would be around 250 years old by this point and still going). Land in America, reach Mexico, and done !
Yes the species live long, making Ornlu having already been there for Vinlandsaga and only wounded, to move east toward Mongolia. Maybe these wolves have the favours of the Norse Gods, using the last of their power before losing it to Christianity.
