Steam version in-game mod manager cannot handle Korean in username

Game Version:

  • Build (101.101.33315.0 4426672)
  • Platform (Steam)

Issue:

Since default mod folder for stream version is “C:\Users\(user name)\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE”,
If user name contains Korean letter, in-game mod manager does not properly work.
For me, each time I clicked ‘Subscribe’ button, it turns into “downloading” and shortly after it just finished without downloading any files.
Another user using Steam platform report user name is matter.

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Create new windows account containing Korean letter
  2. Launch the steam version in new account
  3. Click the “Subscribe” button for any mod
  4. Download is failed

Possible solution : make user specify custom mod directory for in-game mod manager
