Hey
So much Speculation makes peoples angry, I see some people going crazy on the discord channel, and even some people PM me about creating a Boycott group…
Why they communication is so Off for 2021 game seriously? (and still no beta after the soon 2months ago)
Is it common to see a whole 1v1 match before the game comes out for an RTS game?
when they target Esport yes and even when its both casual and Esport you have 1, 1.5year before gameplay footage in user view and not a small cut scene
“boycott”
lol who tf is trying to boycott AOE4? it must be a veeery small minority
As far as I know they have only mentioned e-sport just once, not marketing it like that much so I don’t know where this e-sport assumption is coming from really.
Any news about when is the next trailer, conference, interview or else?
Some crazy guy on discord lol
[Moderator hat on] I don’t think this is happening, but please don’t use this forum to organize a boycott. That’s on my list of things I’ve pledged an oath to shut down as a moderator. You can grumble all you want, though. Just no organized stuff.
I didnt say i was organize i just said someone contact me to do, he block me when i said wtf to him
I am wondering why we dont see too much videos of the game? After all its release date is aproaching and we dont see any videos of the game.
I remember when SC2 was about to comme, if I remember well even we had some videos of sc2 Beta tournaments.
Right now we don’t know if the beta is there, we didn’t see some small gameplay, just some artistic footage moving the camera around when we will play we won’t move the camera as much… 4months and asking 60$ for a game we still don’t see solid, it’s like they rush it. I hope it will be a very good game, and tthe most important: I hope it will be fun. But right now they are not giving us enough things to trust that the game is actually good when the release date is only in 4 months, I worry about it
I’ve gone from hyped to worried. In my eyes, not showing steady gameplay and instead all these short segments that zoom and pan around communicates to me that they aren’t finished enough to show gameplay yet. And that’s pretty worrisome for an RTS 4 months from release.
Because they are making all this talk about readability and competitive play
I dont think we will see a live PvP until gamescom.
However, I certainly hope beta invites will start soon. because if they dont, I have to believe the game development is lagging behind, the hype for beta already died for some persons, it seems. Me included. I will play of course, if invited, but I wont be that stoked about it anymore.
The hype for AoE IV is turning into frustration of not seeing any actual gameplay. This frustration is now turning into speculation of what the reasons might be which is pretty bad for the game.
All we have seen is fake gameplay, nobody is going to line their units up like in the trailers shown. Not a lot are going to be building nice looking cities.
In general the game feels more indie then a real franchise installment. There is some quality missing of having nice looking upgrades and unit images. The things like simply increasing the y-ax of the arrow not being done. The catering to the “community” council when its mainly selected by the devs and the then closed community.
maby you are just not in the beta…
there is a beta around for weeks already mate 1000% sure about that
People here are refering to open beta not closed.
Also betas that are closed dont show any gameplay to the actual wider community who is supposed to buy the game.
The game is released on October 28, 2021 and, for example, we have not experienced a single PvP 1x1 match
I don’t think the problem is redability or gamescom, and I don’t think to focus on esports is bad. But for exemple, there is a post on reddit where they increase 20% buildings and looks really cool and we still can read well which units are on game. Anyways I feel like we could understand some graphic choices, some physics preferences with the gameplay. Maybe is a really fun game to play and maybe less reallistic things makes sense for a very funny game. But again we can’t know if we don’t see anything. Someone post on insider forum that if we still not have a beta, even if it’s only inside some insiders, how many feedback they will take from it? It will be enough time 4 months?
And I agree with many of you, asking a large amount of money for this game, with graphics that are not top, without many details, (water looks horrible, on Aoe3 it was really beautiful), I mean is not the quality expected for a AAA game. I have a hope (that is desapering as time passes) that the mechanics will be really fun as we saw on the videos they showed us, with many new gameplay things in battle.
On another side, if it’s a “hype” marketing they are doing really bad because little by little the trust fades away. I hope I’m wrong but I’m afraid some things are not
I’m starting to think that they must polish the game well and delay the release, now the feeling is not ok, hope on july all will change fast
You don’t target game to be esport with 60€ price
