May we have a new button added to the Statistics screen for at least Single Player games?
Mockup:
It has always seemed weird that when a match ends, you have to exit all the way out to the main menu and re-select ‘Single-Player’, then ‘Skirmish’ to get back to the lobby to edit/start a new match. The user experience for this is a little cumbersome and painful, imo
There are several reasons why I want to just get back to the lobby screen. For example:
-
If I get a snow map, I immediately exit and have to re- set up the match (because I hate snow maps). Same goes for some deserty maps because they’re too bright and barren for me
-
If the match starts and I realize I forgot to do something I wanted to in the lobby setup screen (e.g., enable record games, allow cheats, turbo mode, or make the map ‘all visible’ or vice versa)
-
Don’t like the map. The cartoony thumbnail depictions aren’t always good enough at capturing the essence of maps, so a quick quit is frequently necessary. Or the map ends up being Nomad and you don’t want to play a Nomad map. Or the biome isn’t what you wanted. And so on
- This is why I suggested this feature long ago… when hovering your mouse over any cartoony thumbnail, a little pop-up screenshot sample image of it occurs right next to it (without the arrow). Though, I’d probably want the screenshot to be a little more zoomed out than shown here:
Thread about it → [REQUEST] Add in-game screenshot thumbnails for Single-player map selection screen- I’ve seen certain UIs do this functionality, and it works really well. I can’t remember off the top of my head where I’ve seen it though. As you hover from thumbnail to thumbnail, the pop-up screenshot would be next to whatever thumbnail you’ve moused to
-
Match ends and I want to launch another single-player game with quickly tweaked settings or a different map to jump right back into the action
-
Etc.
For the first three bulletpoints it’s a bit painful to have to go all the way back to the main menu every time. Sometimes I’ve gotten a snow map 2 or 3 times in a row, for example. So many clicks to re-start the game 3 times in a row.
I want unranked private multiplayer matches to have this same sort of button, but I’d somewhat understand if that’s too complicated. So please just at least make this button for Single Player ![]()
