It’s frustrating in AoE3 to deal with all those red structures and the game telling me at every corner what I can’t do. That’s a big reason why I never liked AoE3 and stopped playing it long ago.
“Stay between the lines, player! We can’t have you playing the game how you want to play!”
“You’ve built a fort? Sorry, can’t build another. You want walls here? Bummer. You seriously want to build a multitude of TCs? Lol! And please don’t think of dropping a fort wherever you want.”
Feels like you’re playing a UI simulator where you have to guess where the devs’ invisible lines are when trying to complete actions, imo
