Super Random should be a permanent map in the map pool

Super Random and Arena are clearly two opposite extremes: one is about extreme stability and Fast Castle (FC), while the other is about maximizing randomness.

Even though pros say Super Random has its own “meta,” at least you don’t know exactly what you’re doing before the match even starts.

Also, Black Forest and Amazon Tunnel are essentially the same type of map—a ring of trees with both sides pushing through a choke point.

Then there are wide-open maps like Arabia.

There should be one permanent map selected from each category.

Alternatively, maps should be grouped by type for selection.

For example, for “Closed Maps,” we could choose between Arena and Fortress.

For “Forest/Choke Maps,” we choose between Black Forest and Amazon Tunnel.

And “Super Random” should be a permanent category on its own.

Furthermore, some fun game modes lose their charm in the Lobby because the skill gap between players is often too wide.

Take Co-op (Archon) mode, for instance—multiple people controlling the same player position. It would be much more fun if we could use the official matchmaking system to find players with similar skill levels.

In other words, even if I only have 400 Elo, I want to be able to use the ladder’s matchmaking to find teammates and opponents of similar strength for fun modes like Archon, rather than just testing my luck in the lobby.

It used to be, but then they let every tom dick and harry who doesn’t play ranked vote on the map pools so you always see the maximum amount of closed maps possible from people who have so much ladder anxiety their nervous for YOU to play on fun/open maps

It’s almost like this game has been slowly degrading through a numerous amount of small but bad changes (wider voting for map pool, nu Arabia, pathing, 3K) that the community has ravenously defended and now we’re in a bad spot
