I am putting this in discussion rather than in a bug report as I dont have access to the game I saw on stream that I reference and because I am a little uncertain if this is actually a bug.
I have seen plenty of pro’s have vils just start to randomly walk across the map because the TC rally point gets set in some random place, had it happen to my self as well. Personally, but also seeing other threads and streamers talk about it, we have always assumed its just a misclick. But watching Grubby’s stream on the 4th February makes me think this is an actual bug where the TC rally point gets set randomly. If you watch the stream on 0.25 speed, in particular at 1:03:00 - 1:03:01 it seems quite clear that the TC randomly resets the gather point without Grubby having issued the command - as if a right click was registered even though it was not issued.
Its a difficult bug to catch because unless you have a recording of the screen you cannot detect it with 100% certainty when just watching back a recorded game, as far as i know there is no way to see right clicks made on the mini map when watching a recorded game.
I have seen this raised once in the AoE 2 DE bug report forum but there is was assigned as a mis-click.
Potentially related (registration of a right click that was not issued) I have had nomad games where vils that are building something at the start and then just walk away, I have always assumed a mis click on my part but had it happen recently again. Went back and watched the recording but dont see any mis-click, if I mis-clicked it would have been on the mini map, I am fairly confident I didn’t do that but again cant be certain as I cant see right clicks made on the mini map without having a recording of the screen (not just the game).
- anyone know if there is a way to see right clicks made on the mini map?
- other suggestions for what is causing this/is this actually a bug?
- Do we know if this is this a recognised bug that the devs are working on?
