Dear AoE IV Development Team,
team games are a major part of Age of Empires IV, yet they are still heavily affected by random spawn placement, which often undermines strategy, coordination, and fairness. We strongly believe it is time to introduce a team spawn control feature in team games.
In organized team play, players choose civilizations and roles with intention: frontline pressure, pocket booming, trade support, or early aggression. Random spawns frequently destroy these plans by placing teammates far apart, forcing weak early-game civilizations onto the frontline, or isolating players who are meant to work together.
This is not a matter of convenience — it is a core gameplay issue.

Reduce the value of team composition and coordination

Punish premade teams that plan strategically

Create frustration instead of competitive integrity
Age of Empires IV is at its best when outcomes are decided by strategy, execution, and teamwork — not by spawn RNG. We respectfully but firmly ask you to prioritize the introduction of a team spawn feature for team games, especially in ranked play.
This change would significantly improve the long-term health, fairness, and competitiveness of Age of Empires IV team games.
