Technology: Camouflage

i had an interesting Black forest yesterday, at the end having only 1 vil left but guarded by an enemy Hussar, so I couldnt escape and rebuild. My friend could not reach towards me as the path was blocked by a constant pour of hundreds new enemy units.

That gave me the idea of a new unique technology, maybe for a specific civ: Camouflage.

This tech enables you to get 10 units of your choice take the camouflage of an enemy color of your choice, including that no enemy unit is attacking your units automatically, only if explicitly selected to do so. Also defense structures will not attack the 10 camouflaged units, and doors of the corresponding enemy will open.

This opens up a lot of nice / niche strategies to give new options to the game: Sniping enemy siege, sniping enemy kings, helping an entrapped ally, or getting important information the enemies base.

It is a powerful option, and also a very limited one, so it should be straightfoward to balance. :ninja: :ninja:

Professional users can identify the spies by seeing that they move where the player didn’t order them to. We could also have a small, not highly visible identification when one clicks on the unit (e.g. the original player name will be visible).

This is why this should not be implemented at all in ranked play.

Its not so strong for sniping kings. Kings are usually in casltes, and the Camouflage strategy is pretty bad to destroy castles

Oh, so you basically want to make villager hiding be impossible to defeat

So first sexy nuns then Jews then this!? Am I the only one who sees this as at best a joke and at worst trolling? Actually I can see things way more evil when I want to catastrophize and I might if I need to get justice

“Spies” will detect also the camouflaged units, so countering “village hiding” will be as easy as before.

The issue is your spam is gunking up the thread with time wasters.

This idea is not meta minded and in consideration of multiplayer and thus is of lower value
